Synopsis
Within a Lifetime is a visual novel set in Mirako High, a school specialised in helping students with mental disabilities. After being diagnosed with schizophrenia, Takeru, forced by his condition, must sever all ties with his past life when he transfers to a new school.Despite difficulty with his illness, Takeru still has a chance at forging new friends and relationships as he discovers the true nature of those around him. There are 3 main routes (and a common route before these) each focussing on one of the 3 main female protagonists. The beginning of every play through is always the same however the many different endings all depend on the player's input and choice in the many dialogue options.
With the right decisions, as he interacts with each girl he will delve deeper and deeper into their vivid personal histories, eventually unravelling deep mysteries that may reveal why they are the way they are.
About Development
Within a Lifetime's very early development started as a one man project back in 2015 as a simple dream of creating a visual novel, however it was not officially started until July 2016 when recruitment began on the LemmaSoft forums.
Currently we exist as a small team of international, mostly amateur developers who work on writing, music and art.
Since recruitment began there has been vast amounts of progress including over 155k word count, many sprites and concept art and several tracks for the OST have been completed.
Current development is focused on the "Common Route" of the game, a section of gameplay that comes before the 3 main routes that correspond with each heroine. This "Common Route" will be released as a standalone demo before the rest of the game to give a taste of what the final game will be like.
Projected release for the Common Route demo is sometime in 2017, though it's hard to judge the exact release.
